With over 18 years of devoted service in private pediatric practice in the heart of Parañaque City, Dr. Rhoda D. Perlas - Avena has become a trusted and beloved figure in the lives of countless families. A graduate of Cagayan State University - College of Medicine and Surgery, she pursued her dream of becoming a compassionate physician who could make a lifelong difference in children’s lives. Her journey continued with a rigorous pediatric residency training at United Doctors Medical Center in Quezon City where she honed her clinical expertise and deepened her calling to care for children not only with medical skill, but with heart.

 

Dr. Avena’s scope of pediatric care spans preventive health, developmental pediatrics, nutritional counselling, and the management of acute and chronic childhood illnesses.

 

Over the years, she has earned the trust of parents and the affection of her young patients with her nurturing approach, sharp clinical acumen, and unwavering commitment to holistic child wellness.

 

A woman of vision and versatility, Dr. Avena expanded her professional expertise by completing a specialized training in skin health and aesthetic dermatology at the Medical Skin Health Training Foundation, Inc.. Balancing beauty and medicine, she later served as an Aesthetic Dermatologist at three branches of a prominent spa center from 2018 to 2019. Despite the unforeseen halt in aesthetic practice due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she never wavered in her commitment to her first love- pediatrics- continuing to serve children and families during a time when they needed care and reassurance the most.

 

Her empathy deepened over the years, especially in caring for children diagnosed with autism and neurodevelopmental disorders, as she witnessed firsthand the rising numbers and the growing challenges families face. This growing concern led her to explore more innovative solutions, which sparked her passionate advocacy for regenerative medicine. She joined EW Villa Medica Manila, a renowed center for cellular therapy, inspired by the hope that stem cell technology offers in treating neurobehavioral conditions in children. For Dr. Avena, a regenerative medicine is more than science - it is a beacon of possibility for children who deserve a brighter, more functional future.
